Grade School

The rich and comprehensive curriculum of Waldorf Education is designed to instill a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers strive to align creative developmental activities with emerging cognitive, emotional, and physical stages of growth. The main subjects, social studies, language arts, science and mathematics are taught in Main Lesson blocks of one to two hours per day, with each subject block lasting from from four to six weeks. This allows the student to internalize the basic principles of the lesson and deepens their understanding of the subject.

Grades 1–8:

  • Pictorial introduction to the alphabet, writing, reading, spelling, poetry, and drama.
  • Folk and fairy tales, fables, saint legends.
  • Numbers, basic mathematical processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Nature stories, house building, and gardening.
